Balm for the Wounded is an essential Wayfarer wish in Hollow Knight: Silksong that players can pick up from the Wish Board located in Songclave. This quest centers around tracking down the musical pilgrim Sherma, who has gone missing while searching for critical healing supplies. Completing this task not only aids a friendly ally but also yields valuable character upgrades that aid Hornet throughout her journey through Pharloom.
Unlocking the Balm for the Wounded Quest
Before players can accept this wish from the board in Songclave, certain prerequisites must be fulfilled first. You need to unlock the settlement, complete the Building Up Songclave quest by donating Rosaries, and ensure you have explored Whiteward at least once. Once these conditions are met, visiting the Wish Board reveals the quest prompt, directing Hornet to locate Sherma's whereabouts.
Finding Sherma in Whiteward
Sherma is located deep within the Whiteward area beneath the Choral Chambers. To access this zone, players must acquire the White Key from Songclave to open the elevator leading down into the dark workshop. Inside Whiteward, interact with one of Sherma's dropped items to initiate a scent trail that guides you through hazardous rooms toward a hidden chamber where Sherma is trapped behind a breakable wall.
Completing the Rescue and How to Use the Reward
Upon breaking through the wall and speaking with Sherma, an ambush of local enemies will spawn. Players must defeat all incoming foes to secure Sherma's safety and complete the encounter successfully. After the fight, speaking with Sherma grants you a Spool Fragment as a reward for your efforts. This item automatically contributes toward extending Hornet's total Silk capacity, allowing you to hold more Silk for healing and special abilities in combat.
